= Hosting Providers I just did a Goggle search for Hosting Companies. I got over 71 million hits. Many of those won't be hosting company sites and many others will be different pages at the same site. Still, it's safe to say there are many, many hosting companies in business today. And it's also safe to say that there is no way I can have personal experience with many of these companies. What I do have is personal experience with a number of hosting companies. If you are just starting out then I have more experience than you. I develop websites for clients and through **Basically Brilliant!** have tried various hosting companies for clients and myself. All the companies I've tried have been highly rated by at least some people. It turns out there are some companies I would not recommend to anyone. There are others I rely on and use regularly for myself and clients. Which one I use or would recommend to someone else depends on the needs of the end user and the experience of the developer. If you want to read my reviews and recommendations, see my blog posts for Web Hosting Reviews. If you would like to know more about Web Hosting options in general, I also have several blog articles that might be of interest. See Hosting Options – Introduction, Hosting Options – Shared Hosting and Hosting – Application Stack. However, if you are just starting out, Shared Hosting is the most economical option and generally the right choice unless you have special needs or know you will be getting thousands of hits per day or hour or minute. Most website owners can only dream of that type of popularity. As I stated at the beginning, there are many web hosting companies. Here in my Wiki I will try to provide basic information on how to interact with my two favorite hosting providers, hosting:bluehost:BlueHost and GoDaddy.com. I don't want to replicate the help files from the providers or other sources of help, but I do want to give my own clients and easy introduction to the things they will need most to manager their websites when they choose to do it themselves instead of having **Basically Brilliant!** do it for them.
