There are many open source software tools for windows that you can use to help you. There are a few that are free but not open source. And there are some that are commercial but I would be reluctant to give up. Notepad++ comes with standard color coded text highlighting for a variety of languages and files types, as does jEdit and other programmers editors. If you don't want to pay for WinZip or another commercial product use 7Zip. It is highly rated. I use it.
